Right to Harm Film Screening and Discussion – Cancelled

Edit: Event has been cancelled – to be rescheduled. We are urging people to attend the BOZA (Board of Zoning Adjustment) hearing in Union at the Govt Center (400 E Locust, 63084) instead. The project will impact people in and near New Haven. They fought it once and won and they need a packed room to do it again. Thank you for your understanding and stay tuned for new event details – planning on screening the film in March or early April.
Free, public screening of film on industrial agriculture, Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs). The screening is of the full version of the film and will be followed by a discussion led by Missouri Rural Crisis Center.
Please share details and invite others to attend. Franklin County Commission recently voted to allow CAFOs, without local regulation, in all unincorporated areas of the county = about 90% of areas. We have 4 smaller CAFOs west of Washington, MO already. The regulations, plus the AgReady designation, is an invitation to the larger CAFOs to move into our county. Everyone needs to know the risks to people, our economy, and our health. A community group is forming to pose a different way forward for the county. Attend to learn more and take action!
